Tenerife Symphony Orchestra returns to Los Cristianos for a special concert

The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra (Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife) is set to continue its mission of bringing symphonic music to all corners of the island with an extraordinary concert this Saturday (5th July) at 7:30pm.

The performance will take place at the Infanta Leonor Auditorium in Los Cristianos, under the baton of conductor José Luis López Antón, and will feature acclaimed Tenerife-born trumpeter Adán Delgado as soloist.

This eagerly anticipated event highlights the orchestra’s commitment to cultural decentralisation, ensuring high-quality classical music reaches audiences beyond the island’s capital. The orchestra has performed in Arona on previous occasions, and this new programme aims to further strengthen its ties with local communities.

During the presentation of the concert programme on Tuesday, Acha, also President of the Island Music Board, highlighted the importance of these initiatives. “These extraordinary concerts allow the Symphony to bring artistic excellence to new audiences and settings, reinforcing the orchestra’s presence across all the municipalities of Tenerife,” he said. Admission is free, by invitation.

He went on to emphasise the symbolic significance of this particular concert: “Performing in Arona with a demanding yet accessible repertoire, led by a young maestro and featuring an internationally renowned soloist from Tenerife, perfectly embodies the spirit we aim to project: approachability, quality, and a strong sense of public service.”

The Mayor of Arona, Fátima Lemes Reverón, expressed her delight at hosting the orchestra once again: “Having the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra perform in our municipality is a privilege and a clear recognition of Arona’s firm commitment to culture. This concert is not only an opportunity to enjoy top-level artistic programming, but also an incentive to continue promoting access to classical music here in Arona.”

Councillor for Culture, Naím Yánez, added: “Collaborations like this strengthen Arona’s dedication to offering a diverse, high-quality cultural agenda for all audiences. We are truly pleased to welcome the Symphony Orchestra and to showcase local talent such as Adán Delgado, who serves as an inspiration to the next generation of Canarian musicians.”

The concert promises an evening of exceptional music and is a wonderful opportunity for both residents and visitors to experience world-class classical performance right in the heart of Arona. Those interested in attending are encouraged to secure their invitations early to ensure a seat at this unmissable cultural event.
