A 10-year-old girl was rescued from a pool after a near-drowning incident on Tuesday afternoon at a holiday complex in Costa Calma, Fuerteventura.
The incident occurred at around 2:40pm, when the child was pulled from the water by on-duty lifeguards.
She showed signs of drowning, and lifeguards immediately began performing CPR, successfully keeping her alive until the emergency services arrived.
Paramedics stabilised the girl and made sure she was breathing correctly before transporting her to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
The Local police also attended the scene and carried out the necessary reports.
Thanks to the quick response of the lifeguards and emergency response teams, the young girl’s life was saved.
