The Canary Islands are set to experience cloudy skies and light rain today, Tuesday, particularly in northern areas, according to the latest forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
The outlook also includes a northerly ocean swell of up to two metres, making for choppy sea conditions around the archipelago.
At sea, conditions will vary by region. Northeasterly winds ranging from force 3 to 6 will prevail, bringing rough to strong swells in the southeast and northwest. In the southwest, winds will be lighter and more variable, producing gentler sea conditions. A consistent northern swell of around two metres is expected throughout.

LANZAROTE
Cloud is forecast to dominate the northern and western slopes, with the possibility of occasional drizzle. Elsewhere, skies will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day, with slightly clearer conditions early in the morning and late evening. Temperatures will remain steady, with a minor rise in daytime highs. Moderate northeasterly winds are expected, with strong inland gusts and occasional very strong gusts possible.

FUERTEVENTURA
Cloud cover is expected on the western side of the island, becoming more widespread during the central hours of the day. Breaks in the cloud are possible during the early morning and late evening. Temperatures will remain unchanged. Northeasterly winds will be moderate, but could bring strong gusts inland, particularly along the western coast and in the Jandía area. Very strong gusts are not ruled out.

GRAN CANARIA
Northern areas are expected to be mostly cloudy, with light, occasional rain more likely in the midlands. Conditions will be partly cloudy elsewhere on the island. Temperatures are forecast to remain stable. Winds will be moderate from the northeast, increasing in intensity in the southeast and west. There is a chance of very strong gusts in exposed areas, with breezes along the southwest coast.

TENERIFE
The northern slopes, particularly the northeast, will be cloudy with a chance of light and even locally moderate rainfall. The rest of the island will see partial cloud cover, with the possibility of gusty winds in the southwest and interior southern areas during the afternoon. Moderate northeasterly winds are expected to strengthen in the southeast and west, where very strong gusts may occur. Breezes are expected on the southwest coast.
