63-year-old Dutchman, Derk Jan van Dijk, also known locally as ‘Dick van Dijk’, has been missing in Tenerife since 25th February.
Derk has lived on the island for sixteen years but has been struggling with serious health problems.
He was admitted to El Mojón hospital on 23rd February and was last seen around 7:30am on Avenida Juan Carlos I in Los Cristianos, in the south of the island.
Derk is 1.80 metres tall, has a slim build, has grey hair, and uses a tripod or walker due to limited mobility, as he can no longer walk properly. He has no fixed abode or residence and is possibly homeless.
Acquaintances on Tenerife have not heard from him since he was in hospital and he has not responded to phone calls or messages. His appearance may have changed because he has lost weight and may be missing a front tooth.
His family are very concerned for his welfare and have made an official international missing person report.
