The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a yellow weather warning for adverse coastal phenomena in Lanzarote this Tuesday, predicting waves of up to five metres high.
The week is expected to start with predominantly clear skies, which will gradually turn cloudy from the morning. Minimum temperatures are forecast to drop slightly, while maximum temperatures are likely to remain stable.
Winds will initially be light and from the south but will increase to moderate strength by morning, shifting to a south-westerly direction in the afternoon.
For Tuesday, the northwest coast of Lanzarote is anticipated to experience rough seas with wave heights ranging from four to five metres, prompting the activation of the yellow warning.
Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution in coastal areas, especially in regions most exposed to the rough sea conditions and observe the colour of warning flags on beaches.
Authorities recommend staying updated on weather forecasts and avoiding unnecessary activities near the coastline during the warning period, such as taking selfies in dangerous coastal areas or on rocks.
