In an unexpected development for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the franchised owners of the renowned Ikea brand in the Canary Islands have unveiled ambitious plans to open two boutique hotels in one of the city's most exclusive residential neighbourhoods.
With this exciting initiative, they aim to expand the city's accommodation options with 42 luxurious rooms in two exclusive boutique-style hotels.
Montesa Residencial, the real estate subsidiary of Sarton Canarias, the parent company of the Ikea franchise in the archipelago since 1981, is currently undergoing renovations on two substantial villa properties located in the coveted Ciudad Jardín district.
Each of these new establishments will offer 21 beautifully appointed rooms. The first, to be known as "Casa Las Dunas de Santa Catalina Boutique," will grace the streetscape with its presence within a historic mansion dating back to 1967, located at 7 Calle Maestro Valle.
Meanwhile, the second gem, "Las Vegas de Ciudad Jardín Suites," will take shape across two adjacent villas, one from 1956 and the other from 1960, both situated within the same block. The first of these villas, featuring eight exquisite rooms, can be found at 15 Calle Brasil, while the second, boasting 13 elegant rooms, is located at 3 Calle Fortuny.
This announcement has generated significant buzz among locals and tourists alike, as it promises to add a touch of Ikea's signature style and quality to the thriving hospitality scene of Las Palmas. These boutique hotels are set to offer guests a unique and unforgettable experience in the heart of this vibrant city, making them a must-visit destination for travellers seeking both comfort and sophistication.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project as Ikea Canarias brings its exceptional design and hospitality to Gran Canaria, creating a new era of accommodation options for all to enjoy.
