HG Hotels will build a new 200 room resort in Los Cristianos

HG Hotels have confirmed that they are to build a new 4-star hotel with 200 rooms in the El Mojon area of Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife, and have already applied for licences from the Arona Council.

El Mojon is one of the most sought-after land markets in the South, located between Los Cristianos and the TF-1 motorway, which has been segregated and prepared for construction of several new tourist and residential complexes, but is waiting for its final “unlocking” before building begins.

This will be the third complex for HG Hotels in Tenerife and their fourth in the Archipelago, since they already have the HG Cristian Sur and HG Tenerife Sur apartment complexes on Avenida Ámsterdam in Los Cristianos, and own the HG Lomo Blanco apartments in Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote.

Municipal sources have said that the processing of the partial plan of El Mojón continues its course in the hands of the technicians, and when complete will be passed by Arona Town Hall so that it can be urbanised and construction on this, and other projects, can begin.

In addition to hotels, the area will also have two public parks and a plot that will be used for the construction of a cultural building. To date, more than a dozen licenses have been requested for the construction of complexes for residential use and tourist accommodation, the town hall confirmed.

HOTEL RENOVATIONS IN THE SOUTH:
In the last five years, the renovation of hotels and apartment complexes has increased in the tourist areas of the south, with the most striking case being the Mare Nostrum Resort complex, began a comprehensive makeover of the Mediterranean Palace, Cleopatra Palace, and Sir Anthony hotels in January, which are located on what is known as the golden mile of Playa de Las Américas, costing more than 90 million euros.
