Luxury beachfront resort reopens in Fuerteventura this August

An iconic name in Fuerteventura’s hotel scene is making a grand return this summer, as Meliá’s latest luxury Paradisus resort promises a premium escape in the south of the island.

Formerly known as Hotel Gorriones, the beachfront property in Costa Calma is reopening on 1st August as Paradisus Fuerteventura, part of Meliá Hotels International’s prestigious luxury collection.

Set against the backdrop of sweeping golden sands and turquoise waters, the reimagined five-star resort promises a high-end experience for travellers seeking both relaxation and indulgence.

With its new identity, Paradisus Fuerteventura is designed to offer guests a sophisticated blend of style, comfort, and local character, all within a privileged location by the beach.

The revamped resort is expected to feature spacious, elegantly designed rooms and suites, several gourmet restaurants with international and local cuisine, premium wellness and spa facilities, and exclusive adults-only areas.

Guests will also enjoy direct beach access and a range of leisure and cultural activities designed to immerse visitors in the beauty and spirit of the island.

As part of the hotel’s relaunch, Meliá Hotels International has also launched a major recruitment drive to staff the new resort, with over 50 positions available. The vacancies include roles for chefs and waiting staff, with preference given to candidates who have experience in four and five-star hospitality. Successful applicants will be offered permanent contracts, shared staff accommodation, and company transport from various points across Fuerteventura.
