25-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit by a car in Playa del Inglés

A 25-year-old man has died after being hit by a vehicle on Avenida de Italia in Playa del Inglés, in the south of Gran Canaria.

The incident happened at approximately 11.35pm on Friday night (6th November), according to information released by the Canary Islands’ emergency coordination centre, CECOES.

SUC medical personnel were dispatched the scene and found that the man had suffered serious injuries. After assessing him, they could only confirm his death from the injuries he suffered in the incident.

Local Police and National Police officers also attended, secured the area and carried out the necessary enquiries following the collision.

The information released so far does not establish the circumstances of the collision. The man’s identity and nationality have not been disclosed by the emergency services.
