A bus collided with a glass bus shelter on Avenida de Escaleritas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria yesterday morning, Wednesday, causing significant damage and alarming passengers.
The incident took place on the southbound carriageway, near the Cáritas facilities. According to eyewitness accounts, the driver appeared to lose control of the vehicle while travelling downhill along the busy street.
The impact shattered the glass panels and twisted the metal framework of the shelter, sending broken glass flying in all directions. Fortunately, no injuries have been officially reported.
The crash caused considerable concern among passengers and onlookers, some of whom initially feared that pedestrians might have been trapped or injured by the bus.
Emergency services arrived at the scene within minutes to secure the area and assess the situation. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
