Four hospitalised, one in critical condition, after two road accidents in Tenerife

Two separate road accidents in Tenerife on Thursday resulted in four people being hospitalised, one of whom is in critical condition, according to reports from the Canary Islands Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

The first incident occurred at 6:44pm on the TF-61, near the entrance to Puertito de Güímar, when a 70-year-old man was knocked over by a car and suffered a severe head injury.

He was rushed to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in critical condition. Emergency responders, including two ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), a doctor and a nurse from the Candelaria Health Centre, attended the scene. The Guardia Civil have launched an investigation into the incident.

Later, at around 8:30pm, a second accident occurred on the TF-64, near Cruce del Salto in Granadilla in the south of the island. Two vehicles collided, causing one to overturn, and three people sustained various injuries.

The fire brigade were deployed to free two occupants who were trapped inside the overturned vehicle.

|Following this, a 21-year-old man was taken to the Hospital del Sur, while a 43-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were taken to Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria for treatment.

The Guardia Civil and staff from the Department of Road Maintenance assisted in the emergency and are handling the necessary legal proceedings.
