A fire at a livestock farm located in the Barranco del Juncal, between the municipalities of Agaete and Gáldar in Gran Canaria on Thursday night (July 20th), has killed nearly 8,000 chickens who were inside the barn that went up in flames.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) sent the fire brigade, and police to the farm, where they immediately started to battle the blaze, and it was long before it was under control.
Fortunately, no other animals or humans were harmed in the incident, and the Guardia Civil have opened an investigation into the cause of the fire.
