The Canary Islands Government has shown their intention to continue with the de-escalation of the restrictions in the islands after yesterday’s review of the epidemiological situation, and has reorganized the measures into two groups, one for the islands that have the worse data and highest hospital pressure, and others, which are more flexible, for the rest.
This means that in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, groups of up to 8 people are allowed (except cohabitants) and closing times are now set at 3:00am. For the rest of the islands, the groups of 12 people (except cohabitants) are allowed and the closing times are set at 4:00am.
The measures are adopted according to the epidemiological level of each island, explained the Vice President, Antonio Olivera, who announced that the de-escalation will continue in the next weeks, until we reach a situation with the greatest possible normality.
He also confirmed that if any of the island’s data progresses, it will be incorporated into the group of islands with the best epidemiological indicators.
These new measures have come into force today, Friday, after their publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC).
