A car caught fire yesterday (Monday) on one of the access roads leading to Teide National Park, causing significant traffic jams in both directions on a day when a large number of people headed towards Teide to see the snow after the roads were reopened following the DANA.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre immediately dispatched personnel from BRIFOR, Tenerife Cabildo’s Forest Brigades, to the location given at kilometre 22 on TF-21 and managed to extinguish the flames.
The Guardia Civil were at the scene to control the traffic while the fire was put out, the car secured, and the road cleared so that people could continue on their journey.
They are also investigating the cause of the fire.
