The Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity, a luxurious complex nestled in the Maspalomas region of Gran Canaria, has been crowned the Best Golf Hotel in Spain for 2023 by the prestigious World Golf Awards. This remarkable achievement marks the second time the resort, owned by the Satocan Group, has been honoured with their previous recognition dating back to 2016.
The World Golf Awards organization bestowed this accolade in acknowledgement of Salobre’s unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional golfing experience and outstanding service in the field of golf tourism. It was selected from among 22 top-rated tourist resorts across Spain, including popular golfing destinations such as Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Cádiz, Málaga, Huelva, Murcia, Girona, Alicante, and Mallorca.

The Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity is celebrated for its exclusive facilities and services, which include the renowned Be Aloe Wellness Centre, an array of gastronomic options, and the resort's two golf courses: an 18-hole and a 9-hole course. Additionally, the resort features a Fitting Lab and a driving range for golf enthusiasts.
Satocan, the parent company of the resort, revealed that it is currently implementing a comprehensive "masterplan" to enhance its golf courses. This initiative, led by experienced golf course architect David Williams in collaboration with the course management team, focuses on ensuring the infrastructure's safety, sustainability, and playability. The plan aims to revive the distinctive "desert" style of the golf course, adapting it to the surrounding environment.
As part of this two-year project, new starting tees will be constructed, implementing the "Tee it Forward" concept to enhance the golfing experience. Modifications to irrigation triangulation will also ensure efficient water usage, and all bunkers on the course will be refurbished to create a sporting challenge suitable for golfers of various skill levels. These efforts align with the latest sustainability standards for golf courses.
