A 67-year-old British man died last night (Saturday), after having a heart attack in the street and falling down some steps in San Agustin in Gran Canaria, which caused a head injury.
The incident took place at 10.40pm last night, according to the emergency services in Maspalomas, who dispatched a life support ambulance to the scene on Calle Las Pitas, and paramedics confirmed that he had suffered serious injuries and was in cardio respiratory arrest, for which they began basic and advanced CPR manoeuvres to try and revive him.
Unfortunately, despite their best efforts they were unable to resuscitate him, and could only confirm his death.
The Local Police collaborated with the emergency health personnel, while the National Police instructed the corresponding proceedings and took charge of the body until the arrival of the judicial authority who ordered an autopsy.
