Mostly clear and sunny skies will feature across the Canary Islands today (Saturday), with only a slight chance of light, scattered showers in high areas, according to the latest forecasts from AEMET.
Temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged, but the wind will remain a notable feature, blowing from the northeast at moderate strength, with strong gusts in certain areas.
At sea, northeast winds will also prevail, reaching force 4 to 6 offshore. Expect moderate to rough conditions, with northerly swells of between one and two metres.
Island-by-Island Forecast for Saturday 28th March 2026:
Tenerife
Northern areas will see cloud cover, with a slight chance of light drizzle in mid-altitude areas overnight, clearing during the day. The rest of the island will remain mostly clear, though some cloud may develop in the south around midday. Minimum temperatures will stay steady, with some increases in higher areas. Maximum temperatures will rise slightly to moderately, especially inland. Coastal areas in the north and east will see little change. There is a possibility of frost on the central peaks of Mount Teide. Moderate northeast winds will strengthen at times in the far west and southeast.
General temperature range: Low of 17°C and high of 23°C.
Gran Canaria
Cloudier conditions are expected in the north, with a small chance of light drizzle in mid-altitude areas overnight. Brighter spells will develop during the day. The south and higher ground will remain mostly clear. Night-time temperatures will remain stable, with slight increases in higher areas. Daytime temperatures may rise slightly in the south, more noticeably in mid-altitudes. Moderate northeast winds will strengthen at times, especially on southeast and northwest slopes, with a low chance of very strong gusts later in the day. Light breezes are expected along the southwest coast.
General temperature range: Low of 17°C and high of 22°C.
Lanzarote
Cloudy conditions are expected in the north early on, easing to partly cloudy skies as the day progresses. Elsewhere, skies will remain mostly clear, with some cloud developing overnight. Temperatures will see little change. Moderate northeast winds may become strong at times inland.
General temperature range: Low of 15°C and high of 22°C.
Fuerteventura
The north and west will start off cloudy, clearing to mostly sunny conditions later. The rest of the island will enjoy largely clear skies. Temperatures will remain steady, though inland areas may see a slight rise in daytime highs. Northeast winds will be moderate, strengthening later in the day, particularly inland and in the south of Jandía.
General temperature range: Low of 15°C and high of 22°C.
Please note:
It’s important to remember that the Canary Islands are full of micro-climates due to the mountainous areas. This means all forecasts and temperatures are general for the island, and not location specific. It will obviously be colder at altitude up mountains, and warmer in sheltered coastal areas, but can be very different just a few kilometres away.
