A new hot and hazy Calima is heading to the Canary Islands

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) have reported that a new Calima is heading to the Canary Islands entering the eastern islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura first, as the sandy wind from the Sahara heads across the Atlantic from West Africa.

The haze will be visible from tomorrow in the two aforementioned islands before it spreads to Gran Canaria and then further west to Tenerife and La Gomera later in the day and on Wednesday.

Dust particles will be present in the skies of the Archipelago and visibility will be reduced, as temperatures increase to around 28 or 29°C in Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife, the islands that will be most affected by the calima.
