12-year-old boy hospitalised after drowning incident in south Tenerife hotel pool

A 12-year-old boy has been hospitalised in Tenerife after a drowning incident at a hotel pool in the south of Tenerife, according to reports from the Canary Islands Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

The incident occurred yesterday (Tuesday) at a hotel located on Calle California in Playa Las Americas, in the municipality of Arona, and the emergency services were urgently called to the scene after the child was found in distress in the pool.

According to CECOES, the hotel lifeguards rescued the boy from the pool, who was showing moderate symptoms of drowning and required immediate medical attention.

When medical personnel arrived, they quickly stabilised the boy and took him by ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria for further treatment.

The Local Police conducted the necessary investigations and reports regarding the incident.
