The vacuna buses return to the streets of Tenerife and Gran Canaria

The SCS 'vacuna buses' will once again be touring Tenerife and Gran Canaria from this Monday, January 3rd, to offer quick and easy vaccination against Covid in various locations on the two islands. Nurses will be on board to administer booster doses to anyone over 40 who have not yet had one, and will be operating in addition to the vaccination points already in place on the islands.

Initially, they will be based in the areas with the highest population or influx of people, before going to other areas.

This means that the Tenerife vacuna bus will be stationed at Avda Mercedes Pinto de Armas in La Orotava between 9am and 2pm on January 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th.

In Gran Canaria it will be in the parking lot of the Santa Brígida Health Centre on January 4th and 7th from 3:30pm to 5pm, and on Wednesday January 5th, it will be in the parking lot of the El Calero Health Centre in Telde between 9:30am and 1:30pm.

Who is the booster dose for?
In these mobile vaccination units, booster doses of Covid vaccines will be available to people 40 years of age or older, that is, those born before 1981 who have been vaccinated with Pzifer or Moderna, six months after the administration of the second dose.

In addition to those over 40 years of age, anyone of any age vaccinated with two doses of AstraZeneca (or one of AstraZeneca and one of Pfizer) can receive the booster dose just three months after their second jab.

Also, people vaccinated with the Janssen single-dose vaccine, regardless of their age, can receive their booster dose from three months.

To receive the vaccine on these buses it is necessary to be a resident of the Canary Islands, present your DNI or NIE when accessing the vehicle and, in the case of minors under 16 years of age, be accompanied by their mother, father or legal guardian.
