Over 40s can now make an appointment for their booster dose against Covid-19

The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands has informed that people in Tenerife and Gran Canaria between the ages of 40 and 49 can now make an appointment to receive their booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This group, made up of 322,041 people, will be able to book in advance to receive the booster dose after six months from their second jab.

This means that people born between 1972 and 1981 who have been vaccinated with Pzifer or Moderna can make an appointment, in addition to those over 40, who have been vaccinated with two doses of AstraZeneca (or with one from AstraZéneca and one from Pfizer) of any age, who can be given the booster dose after just three months.

Likewise, they have reminded that anyone under 40 years of age who were vaccinated with the Janssen single-dose vaccine can receive their booster dose from three months as well.

Booster vaccination by appointment:
To receive the booster dose, you can make an appointment through the SCS myCita Previa app, or through the SCS website, or by calling the national number 012, or 922 470 012 if you are in Tenerife, or 928 301 012 if you are in Gran Canaria.

Booster vaccination in the other islands:
People over 40 years of age and those vaccinated with two doses of AstraZeneca, in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro, can make an appointment to receive the additional dose in the same ways, or can go directly to the vaccination points of each island without an appointment.
