The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has today reiterated to the Canarian Federation of Municipalities (FECAM), the table that confirms the measures in force in each of the islands according to their alert level, so that they then transmit the current regulations to all the municipalities of their island, after confirmation of the alert levels yesterday after the Governing Council meeting.
These are, therefore, the measures in force after the changes incorporated in the restrictions due to the orders of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) that have modified some rules for the islands in alert levels 3 and 4.
In addition, the Ministry recalls that continuing to comply with these measures is essential to bend the curve of Covid-19, and appeals, once again, to individual and collective responsibility to prevent the coronavirus from continuing to spread throughout the Archipelago and setting us further back than we already are.
The current alert levels are as follows:
LEVEL 4: Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
LEVEL 3: La Palma and Fuerteventura.
LEVEL 2: La Gomera and Lanzarote.
LEVEL 1: El Hierro
MAIN MEASURES IN FORCE:
- According to current regulations, the number of people allowed to meet in groups, both in public and private spaces, is limited to ten people at alert level 1; six at alert level 2, and four at alert levels 3 and 4.
- Regarding the activity of hospitality establishments, in the islands at alert level 1, outdoor terraces will have a capacity of 100% and up to ten people per table; in interior spaces, the capacity will be 75% and six people per table, and the consumption at the bar will be a of maximum 4 people together.
The total closure of the establishment is set before 02.00 hours.
- In islands at alert level 2, terraces will have a maximum capacity of 75% and a maximum of 6 people per table are allowed; indoors, the capacity may not exceed 50%, the maximum number of people per table will be 4, and consumption at the bar will be in groups of a maximum of 2 people.
The complete closure of the establishment and the takeaway service on the premises will be before 00:00 hours (midnight).
- At alert levels 3 and 4, the outdoor terraces will have a capacity of 75% and the number of diners will be a maximum of 6; Inside, it will not be possible to exceed 50% of the capacity with a maximum of 4 people seated at each table, and the consumption at the bar will be in groups of 2 people.
The complete closure of the establishment and the takeaway service on the premises will be before 00:00 hours (midnight).
NIGHTLIFE:
- Nightlife venues including discos, clubs, fun pubs, and karaokes, are only allowed to open in level 1, following these conditions: total closure before 02.00 hours; no dancing; 100% capacity outdoors with a maximum of 10 people per table, and 50% indoors with a maximum of 4 people per table.
- It is also reminded that, up to now, these establishments must remain closed at alert levels 2, 3, and 4.
SPORT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:
- Regarding non-federated physical and sports activity in indoor areas of sports facilities and centres, at alert level 1 the capacity of 75% will not be exceeded in each of the rooms and the exercises will be carried out in groups of maximum 10 people, including the monitor;
- At alert level 2 the capacity will be 50% and the groups will be 6 people, and at alert level 3 the capacity will not exceed 33% and the groups will be of 4 people maximum, while at alert level 4 the capacity it will also be 33% with masks worn at all times.
CHILDREN'S PLAY PARKS AND SPORTS URBAN FURNITURE:
In addition, in a letter sent today to FECAM by the General Directorate of Public Health, it is reminded that the use of children's play parks and sports urban furniture is prohibited on islands that are at alert level 4, and the municipalities must seal them accordingly.
All the usual measures regarding masks, social distancing, spacing of tables and chairs, hand sanitization, etc, apply as normal, these are just the main ones that have been contested.
