The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has extended the yellow weather warnings for coastal phenomena and adverse sea conditions in Tenerife Gran Canaria La Palma, El Hierro, and La Gomera until at least tomorrow, Tuesday 14th May.
The islands are on pre-alert for big waves, deep swell and strong currents with Force 7 winds from the northeast ranging from 50 to 61 kilometres per hour, south of the channel between Tenerife and Gran Canaria, and offshore on the southeast coast of Gran Canaria.
Likewise, the trade winds will persist with very strong gusts in the summits and southeast and northwest slopes of the archipelago today (Monday), with cloudy skies in the northern parts of the islands below 1,100 metres.
Regarding temperatures, highs of 26 degrees Celsius are forecast in Tenerife, with a low of 14 degrees Celsius in El Hierro.
