VIDEO: Tenerife experiences "hail like popcorn" as temperatures drop
The effects of the DANA in the Canary Islands will be more intense throughout today, as forecast by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), including hail that has already made an appearance in various areas of Tenerife.
Well-known local actor and comedian, Aarón Gómez, posted a video showing the large amount of hail "like popcorn" in Candelaria on social media earlier today, a sentiment also shared by other users, which demonstrates the significant drop in temperatures.

This drop has meant snow on Teide and accesses to the National Park being closed due to ice on the roads.
The rain and storms have put the entire archipelago on yellow alert, although in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and the eastern, southern, and western parts of Gran Canaria, it is orange, with an expected accumulation of up to 50mm of rainfall in twelve hours.
