VIDEO: Driving licence update from the British Ambassador Hugh Elliott
The British Ambassador, Hugh Elliott, has given a video update this afternoon (Friday), regarding the situation with UK driving licences in Spain. As is known, residents who haven’t changed over their UK licences to Spanish ones, can’t legally drive now in Spain, which includes the Canary Islands, unless they take a driving test.
The British Embassy is still deep in negotiation with the Spanish authorities to resolve the situation, but as yet no agreement has been made.
However, in this latest update the Ambassador is confident that agreement is not far away as some fundamental points have been agreed:
