The Guardia Civil closes access to the summit of Gran Canaria due to ice

The Guardia Civil have closed access roads to the summit of Gran Canaria today due to storm Celia, which are affected by sheets of ice on the roads, snow, 100kmh winds, and low temperatures of -0.3°C.

They recommend that people consult their official pages if they need to access the area, to which are open and which are closed.

They advise extreme precaution as ice and slopes don’t mix, particularly on the GC-130 in the direction of the GC-134, and, if you do have to take this route, leave your vehicle parked in an authorized place or car park, and walk up.
