Some cloud, light rain, and strong winds in the Canaries this Bank Holiday Monday

Cloudy skies, light rain, and periods of strong to very strong winds are forecast across the Canary Islands today Monday, according to the Spanish Met Office, AEMET.
Seas will be slight to moderate, with a north-westerly swell of 1 to 3 metres. Coastal areas will see variable light winds and slight seas.
At sea, winds will initially blow from the east or northeast at force 2 to 4, easing to variable 1 to 3 in the afternoon before strengthening from the west or northwest at 3 to 5, occasionally reaching 6 in the southwest overnight.
Island-by-island forecast for Monday 2nd February 2026:
LANZAROTE
Cloudy intervals with overcast skies through the morning and early afternoon, bringing a chance of generally light rain. Skies will clear later in the day. Temperatures stay fairly stable, with a slight rise in overnight lows. Moderate north-westerly winds will include strong intervals, especially later in the day.
Expected temperature range: Low of 15°C and high of 22°C.
FUERTEVENTURA
Cloudy intervals, becoming mostly cloudy around midday with a chance of light, occasional showers, particularly inland and in the west. Skies will brighten later in the afternoon. Minimum temperatures will rise slightly; highs remain steady or dip slightly inland. Moderate north-westerly winds will strengthen at times in western and inland areas during the second half of the day.
Expected temperature range: Low of 15°C and high of 22°C.
GRAN CANARIA
Cloudy intervals, with the north and interior becoming mostly cloudy from late morning through the evening. Light or locally moderate showers are possible, and isolated light rain may occur elsewhere. Overnight lows remain steady or fall slightly; highs stay similar along the coast but will drop moderately in mid-altitude areas and the highlands. Light north-westerly winds will strengthen to moderate in the afternoon, bringing strong gusts to western and eastern slopes and the high peaks, where very strong gusts are possible.
Expected temperature range: Low of 18°C and high of 23°C.
TENERIFE
Cloudy intervals, becoming mostly cloudy in the north from the morning with a chance of light or locally moderate rain. Isolated light showers are possible elsewhere. Temperatures remain stable on the coasts, with slight drops inland and a more noticeable fall in maximums at higher altitudes. Moderate north-westerly winds may include strong intervals on the northwest slope, the Anaga peninsula, and nearby areas of the Dorsal ridge, with locally very strong gusts. On Mount Teide, strong westerly winds will turn north-westerly in the morning, producing very strong gusts that may reach around 90 km/h. Light breezes will prevail on eastern coasts.
