Siam Park has been awarded the title of Best Theme Park in Spain, announced by the Spanish Federation of Tourism Journalists (FIJET España). The recognition was presented in Madrid during the FITUR International Tourism Fair, further cementing the Tenerife water park’s status as a benchmark in the leisure sector.
The award, part of the FIJET España 2026 honours, was collected by senior executives of the Loro Parque Group. Founders Wolfgang and Brigitte Kiessling attended the ceremony, alongside vice-president Christoph Kiessling. The accolade was presented by Miguel Ángel González Suárez, president of the World Federation of Tourism Journalists in Spain.
Expert Jury and Industry Recognition
A jury of tourism-sector communication professionals reached its decision on 21st December following a detailed deliberation process. According to the federation, the award acknowledges “the excellence of Siam Park’s management and its outstanding contribution to promoting tourism and strengthening Spain’s position as a leading leisure destination.”
Specialist journalists assessed not only the visitor experience but also the park’s ongoing innovation. Wolfgang Kiessling highlighted the importance of receiving recognition from tourism experts: “A prize given by specialist travel journalists is particularly valuable because they analyse, compare, and truly understand the sector,” he said.
He added that such distinctions motivate the company to continue delivering exceptional experiences while protecting the environment. “No park has ever been as highly recognised as Siam Park, not just for being a water park but for the quality of all its attractions,” he noted.
Record Numbers and Future Growth
The award follows a strong year for the company, with Siam Park closing 2025 having welcomed 1.6 million visitors. This milestone reinforces its role as a major tourism driver for both Tenerife and the wider Canary Islands.
Vice-president Christoph Kiessling dedicated the achievement to the park’s workforce: “This award belongs to everyone who is part of Siam Park. Their commitment, professionalism, and passion allow us to remain at the top and continue as an international leader in high-quality leisure.”
Innovation and Expansion Plans
Alongside this national accolade, Siam Park continues to enjoy global recognition, having been repeatedly named the world’s best water park by TripAdvisor. Its strategy centres on continuous improvement, showcased through initiatives such as Siam Night, upgrades to signature attractions, and enhanced operational efficiency.
Looking ahead, Wolfgang Kiessling used the occasion to thank his son Christoph for his leadership and hinted at expansion plans: “We are exploring opportunities to create more parks of this kind and continue contributing to the economic and social development of our archipelago,” he said.
