Property sales grew by 18% in the Canary Islands in October

Property sales increased by 18% in October in the Canary Islands compared to the same month in 2021, according to the official data published today (Wednesday) by the College of Property Registrars. Nationally it increased by 9.7% in October, while mortgages grew by 13% year-on-year.

This means, in absolute figures, that 48,745 home sales were registered in the property registries in October, which is 4,300 transactions more than in 2021.

Regarding mortgages, those made on homes increased to 38,684, some 4,400 more than in the same month last year, while those signed for any purpose totalled 51,241 operations, compared to 46,608 in October 2021.

Total sales, not only of homes, recovered their upward trajectory in October year-on-year after a slight decrease in September, with almost 1,500 more transactions from 88,393 in October 2021 to 89,842 in October of this year.

By region, total sales fell in ten of them, led by La Rioja (-18.6%); Cantabria (-14.5%); The Balearic Islands (-12.1%), and Navarra (-10.7%), while the Canary Islands (18%); Melilla (16.5%) and Aragón (12.8%) were the ones that grew the most.
