Pedro Sanchez invites Elon Musk to invest in solar energy in Spain

The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, has publicly invited Elon Musk to invest in solar energy in Spain, after the founder of Tesla posted on Twitter that the country should build “a massive solar park to supply energy to all of Europe”.

In a message published on his official Twitter account, Sanchez highlighted Spain's work in deploying renewable energies and invited Musk to learn about the government's strategy.

"We are already implementing the most ambitious plan towards an efficient and renewable energy system. All sectors are involved, maximizing opportunities, digitization, and the value chain for long-term success. The time is now. Let's do it right. Come and see it In Spain we welcome investors", Sánchez wrote.

In a similar message published last night, the former Minister of Science and Innovation in Spain and ex-astronaut, Pedro Duque, replied to Musk that “in Spain investments are welcomed to increase the production of renewable energies, as well as that, the country has the legal market prepared for it”, adding, "Do you know any investors?"

In addition to founding Tesla, Elon Musk also founded the solar panel company SolarCity in 2006, which was acquired by Tesla for $2.6 billion in 2016 to operate as one of its subsidiaries.
