The company Gasificadora Regional Canaria, S.A.U. has announced plans to decommission and reroute the gas network that runs beneath Siam Park in Adeje, after identifying what it describes as a “high risk to the safety of people and property.”
According to the technical report, currently open for public consultation and accessed by Atlántico Hoy, construction works carried out within the private grounds of Siam Park have damaged and altered the underground gas system, compromising both the integrity of the installation and the stability of the gas supply to Costa Adeje.
The 15 kilometre network, which began operating in 2008, distributes a propane–air mix from a plant located at the northwest corner of Siam Park. The company reportedly detected safety anomalies in December 2024, and formally notified Siam Park, Adeje Town Council, and the Canarian Department of Industry of the issue, yet no corrective action has taken place.
As a result, Gasificadora Regional Canaria has now decided to construct a new route for the pipeline, diverting it outside the private land of Siam Park to ensure a secure and stable supply for the municipality.
The current system will remain operational and Siam Park will remain open while the new pipeline is built to minimise disruption. Once completed, the connection will be switched over at two points, one at the gas mixing plant and another near the junction of Calle Bélgica and Avenida Siam Park, where the line exits the park and continues through public land.
