The National Police have arrested a woman in Tenerife who is wanted by the Italian judicial authorities for aggravated robbery, assault, and making threats. She was subject to a final prison sentence of four years, three months, and 27 days when she fled the country.
The request from the Italian authorities to locate and detain her arrived on 12th January 2026, prompting the police to launch an investigation to determine her whereabouts, after identifying possible addresses across Tenerife where she might be living, as well as several vehicles registered in her name.
Investigators also became aware of two recent arrests on the island linked to the fugitive, one of which involved drug trafficking and unlawful association. These incidents confirmed that she was still on the island.
Following extensive investigative work, police traced the woman to El Médano, in the south of the island. A surveillance operation was set up, leading officers to a campervan in which she was believed to be living. After confirming her identity, the police arrested her.
She has since been brought before the competent judicial authority, which has ordered her remand in custody while extradition proceedings are carried out for her return to Italy to face the charges against her.
