A start-up company in the Canary Islands is making it possible for residents to shop online at stores in mainland Spain and other EU countries, without getting the message: “Sorry, we do not ship to the Canary Islands". Canarias Prime was born from this problem faced by shoppers, and in just a year already has the trust of 180,000 users and expects to exceed 250,000 this Christmas.

This 100% Canarian start-up company is adding thousands of users every day, because it has managed to make the message "we do not ship to the Canary Islands" disappear, by facilitating purchases for online users in the archipelago.

The company has taken over the extra costs of shipping accrued in online orders and covers all customs costs and added taxes so that the order reaches its destination with guarantees and no added surprises.

With Canarias Prime, it is possible to buy at any store in the EU that doesn’t ship to the Canary Islands, and they currently have more than 75 stores on their platform, but if you want to order something from a store that is not on the list, that isn’t a problem either.

Clients can make a personalized order by indicating the URL or web address of the product they want to buy, and the Canarias Prime team will work out the formula for the order to reach its destination, without paying any additional costs and without the package being detained at customs.

Until now, the import or export declaration for the customs authorities, which depends on the Ministry of Finance, DUA (Single Administrative Document), was only exempt for goods destined for the Islands whose value is less than 150 euros, an issue that was a disadvantage for residents of the Canaries when shopping online and caused purchases to be accompanied by bureaucratic and logistical problems and unexpected additional costs for the customer.

85% of online stores in the European Union still do not ship to the Canary Islands due to these bureaucratic and customs problems, but the entry of Canarias Prime means there is a solution.

Recently, they have signed an agreement with Correos, which provides agility to the logistics system of this start-up and that facilitates returns and deliveries in its offices throughout the Canary Islands.
