The latest forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) shows that a light calima and haze are returning to the islands today (Saturday), which will bring a rise in temperatures.
Today’s forecast is for cloudy skies in the northern regions of the islands, and in the west of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, whereas the southern areas are expected to have clearer skies.
Temperature-wise, a slight increase is expected, with highs of 26°C and 28°C in coastal areas and tropical nights ranging between a sweltering 19°C and 21°C.
The wind will blow from the northwest, occasionally becoming strong on the eastern and western slopes, with some gusts at altitude in the areas affected by the calima.
Sea conditions will be choppy and rough where the winds are strongest from the north, northwest, and northeast, reaching force 6 offshore. There will also be a northerly swell with waves ranging from 1 to 2 metres high.
