Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, who works for the European Space Agency on board the International Space Station, has surprised Twitter users by sharing some amazing photographs of the Canary Islands seen from space, asking: “Of the 8 Islands, how many do you see?”
Cristoforetti has won the applause of many users who have been dazzled by her images which, as you can see below, show some amazing sights of the archipelago.

Cristoforetti, a former Air Force pilot who is the first Italian woman in space, captured these images of the Canary Islands, during the Minerva Mission on the International Space Station, which is testing remote ‘rovers’ that will take samples from the surface of asteroids.
