More than 2 million vaccines have now been administered in the Canary Islands

The Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands has announced that they have now administered 2,002,845 doses vaccines against Covid-19, with 62.24% of the target population having had at least one dose, which is 1,220,315 people. Taking into account that the target population has been increased due to the inclusion of 12 to 15 year olds, this number represents 65.22% of the population over 16 years of age.

In addition, up until yesterday the immunization of 871,158 people had been achieved who have received the complete vaccination schedule against coronavirus, which represents 44.43% of the target population of the Canary Islands.

The Ministry have also informed that this Sunday there is another day of vaccination without an appointment, which will take place in Gran Canaria and Tenerife for people between 40 and 59 years old who have not received any dose as yet.

This means anyone born between 1962 and 1981 who reside in these two islands may go to get vaccinated at Infecar, Expomeloneras, Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín and Terrero de Lucha Pedro Hidalgo in Gran Canaria, and at the Santiago Martín Pavilion in Tenerife from 9am to 9pm to get vaccinated with the Janssen single dose vaccine..

They have allocated 16,800 doses of vaccine for that day, which will be distributed at the various vaccination points as follows: 8,400 for the Santiago Martín Pavilion, 2,700 for Infecar, 2,100 for the Doctor Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria, 2,100 for the Terrero de Lucha de Pedro Hidalgo and 1,500 for Expomeloneras.

Group 8: 78.95% one dose and 48.41% two doses. People aged 60-65 years old.

Group 9: 86.90% one dose and 83.46% two doses. People aged 50-59 years old.

Group 10: 49.98% one dose and 37.38% two doses. People aged 40-49 years old.

Stage III:
Group 11: 40.09% with one dose and 5.74% two doses. People between 30 and 39 years old.

Group 12: 6.93% with one dose. People between 20 and 29 years old.

Group 13: People between 12 and 19 years old.
