A 26-year-old man has been seriously injured after two loose Majorero mastiffs attacked him in Tiscamanita, Fuerteventura.

The man was walking with his partner to collect their two-year-old son from nursery when the dogs reportedly charged at him in a public street. According to local residents, the animals belonged to a neighbour and were loose outside a property where a gate had been left open.

The victim suffered several serious injuries and required medical treatment. His injuries have affected his mobility, and he now faces a period of physical recovery as well as dealing with the psychological impact of the attack.

The incident has caused concern in Tiscamanita, particularly following claims that similar problems involving the dogs had occurred previously.
