Tenerife bar and restaurant owners demand changes in restrictions
Several hundred business owners from the hospitality and catering industry in Tenerife demonstrated yesterday with a motor cavalcade through the streets of Santa Cruz and La Laguna to protest against the restrictive measures imposed by the Canary Islands Government.
Eduardo Morales, one of the spokesmen for the group, said: "we are fed up with the fact that we are always the culprits, we are the easiest to close." He says they do not see reasons why they have to close the interior of their premises, especially "when now gyms have been allowed to open 33%, which is a totally unfair comparative offense, because most of the infections are occurring in the family environment".
