The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has issued a reminder that from midnight tonight (Tuesday night/Wednesday morning), the extension of the increase of closing times, capacities, and group sizes that was set on September 30th, comes to an end and reverts back to the original decreed parameters for alert levels 1, 2 and 3, which can be offset by the use of the Covid certificate.
From tonight the restrictions are as follows:
Level 1: the closing time is set at 4:00am, outdoor capacity is 100% and 75% indoors.
Level 2: the closing time is set at 3:00am, outdoor capacity is 75% and 50% indoors.
Level 3: the closing time is set at 2:00am, outdoor capacity is 50% and 33% indoors.
They remind that these hours and capacities may be increased in those establishments and activities that request the COVID certificate, which is now in force in the Canary Islands. Businesses that do so will be able to take advantage of the level lower than one that the island is in.
This means that the hours and capacity that establishments and activities that use the COVID certificate may use are:
Level 1: the hours are unlimited, with 100% capacity both indoors and outdoors.
Level 2: the closing time is set at 4:00am, outdoor capacity is 100% and 75% indoors.
Level 3: the closing time is set at 3:00am, outdoor capacity is 75% and 50% indoors.
The Ministry adds that this measure is in place until 24:00h on Monday, January 10th, 2022, but they have the possibility to extend it depending on the epidemiological situation in the Canary Islands.
Finally, they advise that alert level 4, which has not been modified by the Governing Council, sets the closing time of establishments at 1:00am, a maximum capacity of 33% outdoors and 25% indoors. In the event that any island goes to this level, establishments that take advantage of the use of the COVID certificate will be allowed to close at 2:00am with an outdoor capacity of 50% and 33% indoors.
The current measure also establishes the group sizes of people in public and private spaces (including their homes), indoors or outdoors, (except cohabitants) as follows:
Level 1: 12 people maximum.
Level 2: 8 people maximum.
Level 3: 6 people maximum.
Level 4: 6 people maximum.
In the same way as capacity and closing hours, these limits are applicable in different levels if the Covid certificate is applied.
