The National Police have arrested a 28-year-old Polish man in the south of Tenerife, who had fled his country in 2018 after being sentenced to 9 years in prison after allegedly committing more than twenty robberies with forced entry in his country.
As reported by the National Police in an official statement, the investigators, through the information channels of the General Police Directorate, learned of the possible presence of a fugitive on the island of Tenerife from the Polish justice system.
The investigation allowed the agents to find out that the man in question was hiding somewhere in the south of the island, where he was adopting extreme security measures to avoid being located and detained, since he was aware of his situation.
However, a few days ago, the National Police, learned that he was in the town of San Miguel de Abona, and formed a plan to lead to his arrest, which resulted in him being detained last night, when he was dining in a restaurant in the town accompanied by family members.
The agents proceeded to enter the restaurant and had colleagues outside should he try to escape, and managed to arrest him quickly and quietly and take him to the relevant judicial authorities working collaboration with counterparts in Poland for him to be deported.
