It’s now 18 days since Beatriz Zimmermann has seen, hugged, played with, or woken up with her daughters, Anna and Olivia who are only 1 and 6 years old. She’s had more than two weeks of unease, anxiety, and helplessness, her hope hasn’t decreased, but her anguish is on the increase, living an emotional rollercoaster in which she goes from 0-100 in a matter of minutes.
Beatriz says that her life has come to a standstill since April 27th, the day on which she last saw her daughters, and their father, her ex-husband, Tomas Gimeno. Later that day he contacted her saying: "You will not see them again."
That day a search team was launched that has been relentlessly looking for them by air, sea and land, not only in Tenerife, but now internationally after pictures were shared across the world, and are now being displayed on 300,000 ATM cash machines globally, hoping that someone will spot them.
"WE WILL CONTINUE TO SEARCH UNTIL THE END"
The president of SOS Desaparecidos and family spokesperson, Joaquín Amills, sent a message that is unanimous for the association and for the mother of the young girls: “We will continue searching until the end. Without stopping. We think that the girls are fine and we are not even considering alternatives”. Amills himself expands: "Beatriz has hope and she is transmitting it to all of us."
BEATRIZ’S BIRTHDAY WISH IS FOR GIRLS PICTURES TO BE SHARED AROUND THE WORLD:
Yesterday was Beatriz Zimmermann’s 35th birthday, her first without her daughters since they were born. She posted on social media that all she wants for her birthday is the photos of Anna and Olivia to be shared to all four corners of the world, as she “is not going to stop until she finds them, as without them, my life would have no meaning”.
"You cannot imagine what I feel every day that passes, the uncertainty of not knowing where they are, how they are, the uncertainty of knowing if they are ok, the anger that they have to suffer this madness when they are two little innocent angels", Beatriz said, pointing out that all the mixed feelings "make it more difficult every day."
She also admits that she is afraid of what to say and what to write due to the repercussions it may have on the father. "But what do I do?" She asks herself, while pointing out that all these uncertainties are very harsh. “That is why I ask all of you from my heart to help me find them.” She adds that she appreciates the involvement and affection she is receiving, "but let's not stop until we find them. Let’s show everyone that this world can be a safer world, where such injustices are not allowed."
Beatriz concludes with a message addressed to her daughters: "Olivia and Anna, I adore you my precious girls and I will be strong for you, because you need me to be strong."
