Yesterday the Governing Council decided to keep reduce Tenerife to level 2 and keep Fuerteventura at alert level 3 after reviewing the report from the Public Health Committee on the evolution of the epidemiological data for all the islands. Looking at the trends in today’s data, it looks as though their assessment and decision were the correct one.
In general, the data for all the islands is either stable or continuing a downward trend, except for Fuerteventura who now has a 7-day incidence rate of 88.53, which is more than double that of the next highest. On the other hand, Tenerife is continuing with a decrease and today their IA7 is 29.08 which is a third of Fuerteventura’s and the lowest of the ‘big 4’ islands.
After moping Tenerife, which took effect from midnight last night, the islands are at these levels:
The Ministry of Health have also said today, that they are extending the use of the ‘Vacuna Buses’ in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, as they are proving to be successful and popular with the public as many have said they wouldn’t have got their vaccination if it hadn’t been made so easy to do by hopping on a bus.
