Screenings have begun of 18 to 45-year-olds in Santa Cruz, La Laguna and San Isidro in the south of Tenerife, where there are now 476 active cases, in a bid to find asymptomatic people to curb the spread of contagion. You can go to these health centres between 9am and 9pm today and tomorrow for an antigen test, which if it tests positive, will lead to a PCR test.

The Ministry has also reported of an outbreak in the south of Tenerife amongst 20 students from Santa Cruz who had come down to the south to celebrate the end of term. They were staying in apartments in a holiday complex and have admitted to not complying with any anti-Covid health regulations, and initially made it hard for the trackers by not giving any details of people that they’d been in contact with. However, after their parents were called to assist, they all started collaborating with officials.
