Canary and the Balearic Islands will receive 2 billion direct aid for companies

Today, Friday, the Council of Ministers has approved the line of direct aid of up to 200,000 euros for self-employed and companies especially affected by the pandemic that have lost at least 30% of their income in 2020 , funds that will have to be used to pay fixed expenses and debts.

The Vice President of Economic Affairs, Nadia Calviño, explained at the press conference after the meeting that the aid is intended for businesses particularly affected by the pandemic, such as the hotel trade, restaurants, wholesale and retail trade, plus auxiliary sectors of transport or related to culture.

This total of this aid amounts to 7 billion euros, of which 2 billion are reserved for the Balearic and Canary Islands, as they are the most affected regions, while the remaining 5 billion will go to the rest of the autonomous communities in Spain.
