The Canary Islands are once again at the top of people's lists as a tourist destination ranking among the favourite destinations for British holidaymakers, and now two of the islands have been voted in the top 10 for those travelling with children.
Research carried out by British Airways ranks Tenerife and Lanzarote among the ten friendliest destinations for young children in the world after the airline analysed more than 200,000 reviews published on TripAdvisor by British parents who have been on holiday with their children in the last year.
This is the result of them looking at the opinions of parents who specifically mentioned their experiences in restaurants, hotels, and local activities, placing Tenerife in sixth with a score of 70.5, making it the highest-ranked destination in the whole of Spain with the best rating.
69.1% of people consider the island as the place with the best restaurants to dine with young children during their stay, and 48% rated it as the best destination for its tourist attractions for the youngest members of their family, such as the Teide National Park or Siam Park.
Lanzarote was placed in eighth place on the list with 60 points, being the second Canary Island in the top 10. Among the reviews, the recommendations for its golden, white and black sand beaches particularly stand out. Also, parents made a special mention of Pardelas Park which includes a farm area and photo-ready mountain views.
This is great news for the Canary Islands as they continue to feature among the favourite and most requested destinations by British travellers and holidaymakers, and reiterates how important they are to the islands.
