Paramedics revive young girl who drowned in a hotel pool in Playa Las Americas

Paramedics saved a young girls life yesterday afternoon (Thursday) after she was rescued from a hotel pool in Playa Las Americas, in the south of Tenerife, showing signs of drowning.

The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) received an alert at 6:50pm from the hotel requesting medical assistance for a girl who had fallen into a pool, and immediately dispatched a medicalised ambulance to the location given.

When paramedics got there, they confirmed that the young girl wasn’t breathing due to inhalation of water and started with cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres, and successfully managed to revive her.

After making sure the young girl, who is on holiday at the hotel with her family, was stable, they transferred her to Hospiten Sur for further treatment.
