Over 30’s can now get their booster jab, wait since last one has reduced to 5 months

The Ministry of Health Canary Islands has announced today that anyone aged between 30 and 39 years old, i.e. those born between 1982 and 1991, may now receive their Covid booster vaccine with or without an appointment at the main vaccination points.

They have also reported that the waiting time since your second dose has been reduced. Those people who have had Pfizer or Moderna must only now wait five months to receive their booster dose (reduced from six), while those who AstraZeneca or Janssen will be able to receive their booster dose after three months.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 after being fully vaccinated, the waiting time between diagnosis and administration of the booster dose must be at least four weeks.

Vaccination by appointment:
People between the ages of 30 and 39 may also now make an appointment to receive their booster dose through the miCitaPrevia mobile app or through the SCS website. For the time being, the 012 number will not be available to give appointments to this group because they haven’t loaded their details.

However, anyone over 40 who was vaccinated with AstraZeneca or Janssen, regardless of their age, can make an appointment, in addition to the miCitaPrevia app and SCS website, by calling 012, 928 301 012 or 922 470 012.
