The Tenerife Cabildo have introduced the first ecotax for Teide National Park from today Monday, 19 January 2026, meaning that non-residents of Tenerife will be required to pay to access the Telesforo Bravo Trail (PNT 10) and the Montaña Blanca–La Rambleta Trail (PNT 07) during specific time slots.

Fees will vary depending on the day of the week, the user profile, and the trail selected, and will be managed through the Tenerife ON website and APP.

According to the Cabildo, prices will range from 3 to 6 euros for residents of other Canary Islands and up to 25 euros for non-residents, although the final tariffs for these two trails remain within the bands announced for each schedule.

Cabildo President, Rosa Dávila, described the ecotax as a clear commitment to conserving Teide National Park while ensuring Tenerife residents retain free access. She said the measure is “fair and balanced”, with only symbolic charges applied to residents from other islands.

Fees for Trail PNT 10 – Telesforo Bravo:
Tariffs will apply between 9:00am and 5:00pm.
– Tenerife residents: free
– Under-14s: free
– Residents of other Canary Islands: 6 euros
– Other visitors: 15 euros

Fees for Trail PNT 07 – Montaña Blanca – La Rambleta:
Applicable between 9:00am and 3:00pm, with prices depending on the day:

Weekdays:
– Tenerife residents: free
– Residents of other Canary Islands: 3 euros
– Other users: 6 euros

Weekends and public holidays:
– Tenerife residents: free
– Residents of other islands: 5 euros
– Other visitors: 10 euros

Councillor for Natural Environment and Sustainability, Blanca Pérez, said the new tariff system will improve management of the park’s most sensitive trails by adjusting access to the environment’s real capacity. Funds generated will support conservation, safety, and visitor experience, helping advance a more sustainable model for Teide.

Reservation Requirements

A credit or debit card is required for all bookings, and the details of every participant must be provided. Confirmed reservations cannot be modified or cancelled, nor can dates, times, or participants be changed. Refunds will only be issued if the trail is closed due to weather, exceptional circumstances, or if the Teide Cable Car is out of service. No refunds will be given if access is denied because users fail to meet the mandatory minimum equipment requirements published on the Tenerife ON website.

Reservations will continue to be made via the Tenerife ON platform. For now, bookings can only be processed through the website, not the mobile app. Each Monday at 7:00am (Canary time), a new week of availability opens, maintaining a rolling 28-day booking window. Users must be registered and verified on the platform in order to reserve.
