Holidaymakers’ life saved at Costa Adeje beach in the south of Tenerife

A 53-year-old female holidaymaker suffered a severe drowning incident yesterday (Thursday) at La Pinta Beach in Costa Adeje in the south of Tenerife, according to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) of the Canary Islands Government.

The incident took place at 1:40pm which is when the 1-1-2 call centre received an alert informing them about the rescue of a woman who was in cardiac arrest and showing signs of drowning beach, requesting urgent medical assistance.

The woman was rescued from the water by lifeguards at the beach who administered CPR until SUC paramedics arrived at the beach and took over.

After carrying on with advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques, they successfully revived the woman, who once stable, was taken in a medicalised ambulance to Hospiten Sur in Las Americas for further treatment.
