The emergency services were called to the scene of an accident earlier today, Thursday, at the Repsol petrol station on the high street in Armeñime in Adeje, in the south of Tenerife.
According to a statement from the Local Police, the petrol station was temporarily closed after a grey Volvo estate crashed into a petrol pump prompting the authorities to take immediate action.
The fire brigade were called to the scene and covered the forecourt with foam to prevent any fires due to a fuel spillage, while the police made sure that staff and customers were at a safe distance from the incident.
After about an hour when everything was cleared and the area was safe, the petrol station reopened to the public. The police will study CCTV footage to determine the cause of the accident.
